Almora Literature Festival
Panelist on session - ‘Food Tales of Tradition and Heritage’
My first literature festival, but definitely not my last, Almora Literature festival was special for me, for several reasons.
I was in my home state, for a panel discussion on ‘Food Tales of Tradition and Heritage’, sharing the stage with Padma Shri, Dr Suman Sahai. My grandfather, an award-winning author and historian of Uttarakhand, Late Shri Satya Prasad Raturi, always told my siblings and me to take pride in my roots and do our bit to preserve the state’s traditions and culture. And here I was, doing, just that!
PVLF Authors Marathon 2025
Panelist on session - ‘Stories of Cultural Resilience’
It was a moment of pride for me to be a part of PVLF Author’s marathon as a part of PragatiE Vichaar Literature Festival 2025.
I loved every minute of the session on ‘Stories of Cultural Resilience’ which focused on ‘Preserving Tradition in a Globalized World’. Sharing the platform with internationally acclaimed author Catherine Ann Jones. I drew from my experiences of writing my book, Uttarakhand Cuisine: Food and folktales from the hills and the importance of preserving one’s traditions.
Speaker & Judge at School Events
Youth I believe carries in them the power to change our collective future. And I always make time for interacting and encouraging students in any way possible. My first interaction came in my early career days in 1999 when I was invited to Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi to encourage budding journalists. I have been a judge at my Alma mater, Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie for an English debate competition as well as a judge at an online debate competition at Oak Grove School, Mussoorie.
At Sanatan Dharm Girls School Mussoorie, I was invited to talk about my book I did It and the importance of chasing one’s dreams. At DAV Fertiliser School Babrala, I spoke on my experiences as a journalist, author and the importance of reading.
