About Me
My Anthology
Hi, I’m Prachi Raturi— I'm, an author, journalist, mental health advocate, climate change leader and TEDx speaker, and someone who continues to be moved by the beauty of real stories. Over the years, I’ve written stories of courage, culture, food, folklore, social impact, and everyday people who are anything but ordinary.
Each of my books has been a journey sometimes into a community, sometimes into a forgotten tradition, and sometimes deeper into my own questions about life. From coffee-table explorations of CSR work across India to documenting the flavours and memories of my mountains, my writing has allowed me to witness resilience up close. Some stories take years to tell; some arrive like a blessing. All of them have shaped who I am as a writer.
Today, I co-lead The Mind Diaries, India’s first bi-monthly magazine dedicated to mental health and well-being. This work brings together two things I care about most: emotional honesty and meaningful conversations. I truly believe the right story at the right time can make someone feel seen, understood, or simply less alone.
Writing, for me, is not just a craft. It’s how I listen.
Why I Write
For more than 27 years, I’ve had the privilege of listening to people from different walks of life and turning their journeys into narratives that inform, inspire, and sometimes even heal.
I write because stories don’t just entertain us — they ask us to think, to feel, and to pause long enough to understand another human being. My writing has taken many forms over the years. Some celebrate people who built extraordinary lives from ordinary beginnings, some explore culture through food and folklore, and others document social impact across India.
A few milestones I treasure:
- Gyanoday, a Cofee Table book written for the Presidential Estate. Launched by the President and Delhi CM.
- I Did It! (Vol. 1 & 2) — stories of people who dared to dream, published by Times Group Books (with Vol. 1 launched by Ruskin Bond).
- Being invited as A TEDx speaker.
- Uttarakhand Cuisine: Food & Folktales from the Hills (where food met memory).
- The India Drive (Vol. 8 & 9) with Outlook Group.
Alongside my books, I also write anonymously for CEOs, public figures, and changemakers, helping them tell their stories with clarity, truth, and heart.

Rooted in Journalism
Journalism shaped me. It taught me to listen without judgement, ask uncomfortable questions, and recognize dignity in every story. I’ve worked with and written for publications like:
Hindustan Times, The Times of India, Mail Today, Financial Express, Outlook India, Vogue, Femina, Business Line, and many more.
Some moments that shaped me:
- Covering the Kandahar IC-814 hijack
- Reporting the 1998 General Elections
- Leading a 16-page Sunday magazine at Mail Today
- Interviewing leaders whose stories started small but changed industries
Journalism taught me resilience, curiosity, and integrity — qualities that continue to guide all my work today. Journalism gave me access to people at their most real, and I carry that honesty into every kind of writing I do.
Where I Come From
I grew up in Mussoorie, where nature, folklore, and community shaped my worldview. Later, I studied Journalism at Delhi University, earned a Master’s degree in Yoga, and eventually found myself building bridges between storytelling and well-being.
The hills taught me to observe quietly, pause often, and respect stories that take time to unfold — lessons that continue to guide my writing today. I now live in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR region, still carrying the mountains within me.
